Our client is one of the world’s leading manufacturers and distributors of biomass-based fuel. This is a financially-strong, well-respected company that is entering a new stage of growth with the acquisition of a plant they see as a platform for their future expansion in the U.S. This plant is about 6 years old, was state-of-the-art when it was built, but our client is investing 10 million dollars in the coming year for capital improvement projects to take it to the next level.
They have retained us to find an experienced industry professional who, as the Superintendent of Fiber and Logistics, can lead the day-to-day management of existing long-term residual contracts which supply the bulk of the fiber, develop relationships with new suppliers to supplement volumes, manage fiber quality programs and outbound logistics. This is a growth opportunity because the company expects to start construction of another Green-Field plant in mid-2019 and this position will assume additional responsibilities for that facility when it comes on-line.
We are looking for someone who understands fiber, flow, contracts and logistics…a detail-oriented leader with good planning, organization and people skills. Experience in lumber or other forest products, wood fiber, biomass, wood pellets or similar manufacturing operations would be a plus. Someone excited about a chance to play a key role with a fast-growing company whose growth provides a great career path for strong performers.
