Assistant Mill Manager - Moulding / Millwork
The client manufactures high-end hardwood moulding and millwork. Everything is manufactured “to-order”; they do not do “stock” items. Moulding and millwork end up in high-end residential, commercial, or public buildings, (including many of our nation’s historical private residences and government buildings) or industrial customers such as yacht builders. Currently there are 18 employees in the mill. Equipment includes a variety of saws, a planer, 4 moulders (Weinig), shaper, etc.
The Assistant Mill Superintendent is a newly-created role will function as a “right-hand” person to the Mill Superintendent to oversee their existing manufacturing operations. Responsibilities will include monitoring work flow, ensure lumber needed for manufacturing operations is on-hand, ensure quality standards are being met, supervise mill employees to ensure everyone is working efficiently and effectively, and be a backup to the Mill Superintendent on some administrative functions such as payroll.
